Let me be honest with you — I used to be that person who overpacked her entire skincare shelf into a suitcase and paid the overweight baggage fees to prove it. After one too many airport security confiscations and a particularly humbling trip where my entire routine arrived in a shattered, leaking mess, I finally learned the art of the beauty travel edit. This is the list I wish someone had given me years ago.
✈️ Skincare — The Non-Negotiables
With combination skin, travel is a particular challenge — the T-zone goes rogue on long-haul flights while my cheeks turn into the Sahara. These are the products that keep everything balanced no matter where I land.
A Gentle Cleanser

This is my ride-or-die travel cleanser. It never strips my skin, works beautifully in hard hotel water, and the travel size fits perfectly in my liquids bag. I have tried luxury alternatives that cost ten times as much — nothing works better for keeping my combination skin calm after a long flight.
Decant into a small silicone travel bottle to save space — you only need a pea-sized amount per wash anyway.
A Hydrating Toner

A good toner is the secret weapon of every travel skincare routine — and this Caudalie Vinoclean is my forever favourite. Non-negotiable. Full stop. You are closer to the sun at altitude, you are exploring outdoors more than usual, and UV damage does not care that you are on holiday. This French pharmacy classic is lightweight enough for my oily T-zone, hydrating enough for my drier cheeks, and leaves zero white cast.
Pack SPF in your carry-on, not your checked luggage — apply on the plane and top up whenever you step outside.
A Luxury Night Moisturiser

This is my most treasured travel skincare indulgence. The Lancôme Absolue Soft Cream is built around Grand Rose Extracts including Lancôme's own Perpetual Rose grown exclusively in the south of France.
